Trouble-free maintenance is provided by the proven One Way Bleeding concept and the Easy Hose Joint System (rear) which simplifies brake hose exchanges.
Shimano Alivio ST-M4050 shift/brake lever
The Shimano Alivio ST-M4050 Rapidfire Plus shift/brake lever features an easily readable optical gear display and a 2-finger brake lever for hydraulic disc brakes. Thanks to the ergonomic shape of the lever effortless and long trips are possible. The built-in rubber shock absorbers ensure low-noise operations. Thanks to the 2-Way Release function the shift lever is ideally suited for a variety of driving styles and requirements.
The lever is also equipped with 2-Way Release for different riding styles or shifting (indexfinger or thumb) from various riding positions. The upper lever still performs the same function, but now it swings both ways. Pull it with your finger or push it with your thumb - you choose.
Multi-Release (only at right lever) allows shifting three gears at once in both directions.

The hydraulic Shimano BR-MT400 disc brake caliper features a slim design. Its 2-piston construction provides a reliable brake performance and control.
